Most of the local producers we use are affiliated to “Made in Cumbria”, a government initiative to promote producers in the region. To be a member, the producer has to ensure their product is wholly derived within the county or that the main process to the product is carried out in the county.

Saddleback Foods and Smokerie
Based in Plumpton, Mark and Jane run this smokerie and use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. They supply us with our smoky chicken, smoky roasted peppers, honey roasted ham and can also supply Cumbrian cheese on request.

Hawkshead Relish Company
Mark and Maria offer a fantastic range of chutneys relishes and jams. Currently we use their Seville Marmalade, Bramble and Bramley Jam, Red Onion Marmalade and Westmorland Chutney.

Brysons
Local bakery, Brysons, supply us with our granary, white and ciabatta bread

Scales farm
We buy our eggs from Scales farm in Embleton. Depending on the season, they also supply us with potatoes and other vegetables when we need them.

Jeremys Soups
Helen and Jeremy supply us with a range of freshly made, traditionally flavoured soups. Their produce ranges from the more traditional tomato and basil to the more adventurous spicy three bean….

Richard Woodall
Richard Woodall Ltd. produce traditional dry cured hams, bacons and sausages, using pork reared on their own farm in humane conditions. The accumulated knowledge of 8 generations, combined with ancient recipes and techniques enables them to produce food of the highest quality.

Tarn Close Market Garden
Michelle and her family run Tarn Close market garden on the outskirts of Cockermouth. During the summer months they supply us with most of our salad vegetables, which are organically grown.

Lakeland Mineral Water
Lakeland spring water is sourced in the Western Lake District fells, which is naturally low in sodium and nitrates and free from any additives or processing.

Dents Lemonade
Throughout the last 90 years, this Cumbrian lemonade has stood the test of time. Produced by Lakeland Spring Soft Drinks, the water used to make this drink is from the Ennerdale valley in the Western Lake District.

Think Drink
Think Drink is a small apple juice business, established a few years ago. Quality apples are sourced mainly from Cumbrian orchards which, in most cases are over 100 years old. These orchards contain many ancient Cumbria varieties, which gives the product a range of distinctive flavours.

Blencathra Bakery
Dot is a qualified baker with over 30 years experience and operates her bakery business from High Row in Threlkeld. Those of you who have tried our carrot cake and chocolate brownies will know just how talented she is!

Coniston Brewery
The skill and instinctive know how of Coniston brewers Ian Bradley and Rob Irwin, has allowed their Coniston Bluebird beer to win the ultimate accolade; CAMRA supreme champion beer of Britain 1998!

Jennings Brewery
Jennings has been brewing beer in Cockermouth since 1874. Pure Lakeland water is used, drawn from the brewery’s own well and the skilled brewers draw on years of experience and traditional brewing methods to create a superb range of beers, two of which we serve here.

Strawberry Bank Liqueurs
Strawberry Bank supply us with our damson gin and blackberry liqueur. To produce these unusual and tasty drinks, they use fruit grown in their own orchard and those of other local growers in the Lyth valley.

English Lakes Ice Cream
English lakes ice cream is a family run firm producing a range of luxury ice creams and sorbets. All of their products are natural and do not contain artificial flavours or colours.
